Having known each other and played folk music for many years, we started out as a band at Glasgow University in 2013, and we’ve come a long way since then. But, even having graduated and moved all over the country (and indeed the world) we still love to come together at every opportunity, particularly in Glasgow and Edinburgh where three members of the band are still based. Our five piece line-up creates an exciting, full-bodied and energetic sound that will have you off your seat and onto the dance floor in no time.
As a band we have played a variety of ceilidhs across Scotland, as well as for the Shennaghys Jiu Festival on the Isle of Man, and for events in Potsdam, Germany and Gothenburg, Sweden. In addition to the exciting ceilidh sets we’ve developed over the years, we love playing a real mix of music in between dances, from traditional sets to pop covers. Some of our favourite experiences have been arranging pieces for wedding requests.
Our Line Up
What We Provide
Between us we have a wealth of ceilidh and folk music experience. Along with our traditional sets we enjoy allowing other styles to influence the traditional music, giving it an exciting edge, whilst retaining the unique folk feel. We tailor all our sets to your needs so whether you're keen for a night filled with fast and furious dancing (and we have some exciting ones to teach you), or prefer a more gentle pace, we will ensure you are not left disappointed. As well as providing music to dance to, we can play background music between dancing (if you want a longer set of this please let us know in advance). Check out the Music/Pictures page to hear us at it!
NOTE: We are unfortunately no longer able to play together regularly as we have spread around the world. Jo is now teaching in Hong Kong, Jake is an engineer in London, Cameron is still in Glasgow and amongst other things works as a film maker and composer, Rory is a software engineer, and Callum is an engineer in Trondheim in his spare time writes about his outdoor adventures. We still do manage to find occasional excuses to get the band together, but only rarely and for major events.
